Her ears pinned back, "You don't need to snap at me" She mumbled.

She limped into the kitchen, over to him. "Hey."

"I'll be down the hall if you need me." he growled.

"How are you feeling?" He asked softly and kissed her forehead.

Jane whimpered, turning her gaze from him, her ears stayed back and she held the baby close.

He got her food and walked back, setting it down. He left and stood in the hallway.

"It'll get better" he said gently. "Why don't you go lay on the couch and I'll make you some food" he said.

Jane didn't look at him, she had laid the baby back in the incubator then went back to bed, her back to the door.

"Just head through the dining room, it leads right to the living room" He told her, gesturing to the dining room.

As the baby began wailing loudly, Jane wouldn't move, curled up and hiding her face in her pillow.

Nick sighed and walked in, hearing the wails. He picked up the baby and softly cradled her in his arms.

The baby soon calmed, Jane stayed quiet, keeping her face hidden.

She lay down on the couch, curling up.

He kissed the baby's forehead and sat down on a chair at the end of the room, gently stroking the baby's fur.

The baby kicked a little and cooed, staring up at her father with big eyes.

The baby gave a squeak, squirming then giving a hungry wail.

Nick frowned and brought the baby to Jane. "She's hungry."

Jane gave a nod and slowly sat up, adjusting her gown then taking the baby, breastfeeding her, keeping her gaze away from Nick.

He chuckled, pulling out an old newspaper, "Recognize someone?" He asked with a grin, it was him in a restaurant in France, they called him 'The Guru of The Grill'

He sighed. "There's no need to be bitter. I've been very nice to you for a really long time and you just keep snapping at me in return."

"I just dont want you to snap again.." She whimpered, still keeping her gaze from him, she wasnt trying to be bitter, she just didnt want to make him mad.

"I can't do this. I snapped because of the way you were treating me." he said with a sigh, leaving the room and standing in the hallway

Nick walked in and sighed, seeing her asleep. He kissed her cheek and sat down.
