He held her and watched the tv.

Jane slept for a while, Roni and the baby would wake sometimes and just stare at each other.

Nick slept for a while, snoring softly.

Roni stayed awake and she whined, smacking Nick's face with her hand to get his attention.

Nick whined. He held Roni close and then tried to get her to sleep.

Roni just whined more and she smacked her hand to his face again, clearly she wasn't tired.

Roni squealed and giggled as he played with her, her little tail wagged and she clapped her hands together.

Nick chuckled and brought Roni over to the chair with him, playing with her some more.

Jane smiled softly in her sleep, Roni squealed again and she playfully smacked his chest with her hands.

He picked the toy up and handed it back to her, kissing her forehead.

Roni giggled and took her toy, hugging him the hitting him in the face with her stuffed toy, giggling more.

He didn't notice Jane and kept playing with Roni.

Jane continued to watch, tearing up slightly as she started to think, Roni wasn't Nick's daughter by blood, but he treated her like they were blood related.

Nick held Roni close, smiling down at the child and kissing her forehead.

Roni giggled and cuddled up to him, babbling then drifting off to sleep.
