"I'll get myself some herbs... Maybe I'll be fine then" She mewed.

He nodded and walked down the slope with her, keeping his tail draped over her shoulder comfortingly.

She pressed close to her father as they walked, her ears still back, "I hope no one needs help from me today, maybe I can sleep this off" She murmured, mostly to herself.

He helped her into the den and led her to her nest. "You will sleep it off. Leader's orders. You won't be disturbed unless it's absolutely required."

"But what if something small turns into something too big? Like what if someone gets bitten by a spider or an adder" She mewed.

"Then I'll wake you. But don't let me catch you not resting." Flamestar warned, licking the top of her head affectionately.

She sighed, walking to her herb storage and picking out some herbs she thought would help, also some poppy seeds to help her sleep, "I guess" She murmured.

"Atta girl." He teased, giving her a parting lick on the cheek. "I'll see you later." He mewed, walking out of the den.

"Alright" She mewed and nuzzled him before he left, Cedarleaf sighed and she took the herbs she grabbed for herself, taking the poppy seeds next then she curled up in her nest, falling asleep rather quickly.

Flamestar strode over to his deputy, who had just woken up. Meanwhile, Specklekit crawled out of the nursery, unnoticed.

The medicine cat woke off and on to coughs, even heaving or throwing up.

Hearing a cat in distress, Specklekit peeked into the medicine den, taking in the fragrance of the den.

The medicine cat's ears flicked and she murmured quietly, just getting over a coughing spell.

The young ginger tabby flinched and almost ran away, but then realized that the medicine cat was asleep. He cautiously padded into the den, Amber eyes aglow as he examined the various herbs.

Some herbs were scattered in different piles, also a pile of berries next to a pile of poppy seeds, the berries were deathberries incase Cedarleaf had to make a tough decision.

Specklekit sniffled at the pile of red berries and wondered if he should try one.

The medicine cat murmured in her sleep and she rolled over, her back to the kit.

He decided to save the best for last and explore the rest of the den at first, paying particular attention to the herbs around Cedarleaf, since he guessed that those were what could help a sick cat.

Cedarleaf gave a whimper in her sleep and she coughed quietly, rolling over.

Specklekit squeaked when the medicine cat rolled on top of him, slapping his tail over his mouth to silence himself as he tried to struggle out from under her.

The medicine cat grumbled in her sleep and rolled back over to where she was before.

Specklekit freed himself and sighed quietly, sniffing at the small pile of poppy seeds next to Cedarleaf.

Cedarleaf murmured in her sleep and her eyes slowly opened, though she clearly wasn't awake.

The little Kit lapped up one of the small black seeds, trying to see if it had any taste to it.

The medicine cat's ears flicked and she yawned, laying back comfortably.
